(HONG KONG, 29 September) — The Green Accelerator (GA) held its first Steering Committee (SC) meeting on 29 September, where members elected Dr Ma Jun as Chairman of the Green Accelerator.

During the meeting, the Steering Committee, consisting of representatives of seven GA founding members, reviewed and approved in principle the 2026–2027 annual business plan for the Green Accelerator. The GA business plan sets out GA's core workstreams: delivering acceleration services by identifying suitable green technologies and assisting project sponsors on project preparation and enhancing their bankability; and advancing green technology promotion activities, including jointly developing a Green Tech Database in partnership with AIIB, organizing global green tech roadshows, and rolling out targeted capacity-building programs.

Members also reviewed and adopted the GA Charter. The Charter defines the overall governance framework, together with terms of reference for Steering Committee members, the Secretariat, and the Expert and Senior Advisory Group. The Charter also tasks the GA with building a multi-stakeholder ecosystem by establishing partnerships with a broad range of partner institutions.

Dr Ma Jun, newly elected Chairman of the Green Accelerator, commented:

"The Green Accelerator addresses the critical challenge of lack of bankable green projects across emerging economies. With the governance framework and 2026–2027 business plan endorsed today, we will build a collaborative ecosystem to prepare and scale up viable green initiatives, connect green technologies with global finance, and strengthen capacity building for sustainable transition."

The Steering Committee serves as the strategic governing body of the Green Accelerator, providing oversight, setting priorties and guiding cross-institutional collaboration.
